You receive 50 grams (1.7 oz) of rough labradorite, approximately 12 stones, each about half an inch across. Smoky gray at first glance, each one flashes blue, green and gold as it catches the light.
Pour them into a bowl or dish with seashells and other treasures, or ring a larger crystal with them to frame its beauty and hold it steady; many collectors also believe mini gemstones amplify the larger stone's power. Labradorite is a wonderful crystal to keep around the home and in your favorite spaces.

Labradorescence
The light comes from inside.
Labradorite is a feldspar mineral, famous for labradorescence: a play of colored reflections from inside the stone. Light enters it and reflects off twinning surfaces within, and the different twinning layers reflect different colors, usually blue and green, sometimes purple, yellow or orange, for a shimmering rainbow effect. Not every part of a stone shows it.
The flash appears in only two directions, so it takes a skilled gemstone worker to read a rough stone and cut it to keep that beauty. Labradorite was discovered on Paul Island near Nain, in Newfoundland and Labrador, eastern Canada, and is also found in Australia, Finland, Madagascar, Mexico, Russia and the United States.

Magic, protection and intuition.
Labradorite is known as the stone of magic, protection and intuition, and sometimes the stone of transformation. Prized for its brilliant flashes of color, it is thought to be good for intellect, intuition and inspiration, and is believed to help you see the possibilities in life.
In crystal energy work and new age spirituality it is linked with the Third Eye and Crown chakras, used for awareness and for connecting with our higher selves and the divine.
Sometimes said to contain the Northern Lights, it is tied to the magic of northern night skies: legend says the Aurora Borealis was trapped inside the rocks of Labrador, awaiting discovery among the Beothuk and Inuit peoples.
Crystals and stones have been prized through the ages for their timeless beauty, rich history and believed metaphysical properties; Spirit Magicka makes no guarantee of any mystical effect.
