First found in Tanzania.
Ruby in zoisite was first discovered at the Mundarara Mine, near Longido in Tanzania, in 1954, and it is also widely found in India. In 2010 a 2-kilogram stone known as the Gem of Tanzania was sold, a reminder of how prized this stone can be.
Rubies once reigned as the height of luxury, and ruby in zoisite carries that red splendour into an everyday stone with a captivating allure all its own. Ancient healers are said to have used it in ceremonies to connect with the spirit realm and enter trance-like states, believing it could unlock the wisdom of the universe and bring profound healing.
A crystal of passion, vitality and growth.
Earthy zoisite meets fiery ruby, and together they are said to carry the energy of patience and passion. With its highly energetic properties, ruby in zoisite is believed to transmute negative energy into positive force fields, letting positive forces overwhelm negativity.
In crystal energy work it is connected with the Root, Heart and Crown chakras, and its ruby and green zoisite are used to align the chakras from root to heart to third eye, bringing them into balance. Its ruby is said to fire up courage and passion and to stimulate the root chakra for vitality and enthusiasm for life.
In crystal tradition, the square shape of a cube symbolizes stability, structure and grounding, and is said to enhance a stone’s properties of manifestation and organization.
