Sodalite is renowned for its captivating blue, though it can also appear grey, yellow, green or pink, often with a mottled pattern of white veins or patches. Under ultraviolet light it fluoresces a vibrant orange. Its rich colour and patterns earned it the nickname “Princess Blue”, a stone fit for royalty.
A tectosilicate mineral described as high in calcium, sodium and manganese, it forms where silica-rich fluids combine with existing rock, creating its cage-like inner structure. Sodalite was discovered in Greenland in 1811 and grew popular in 1891, when large deposits were found in Ontario, Canada.

Legend
A stone linked with Atlantis.
In certain metaphysical beliefs, sodalite has a fascinating connection to Atlantis. Atlantean priests and priestesses are said to have revered it for enhancing spiritual insight, intuition and psychic ability, using it to access the Akashic records, the mystical library of knowledge. Legend has it that sodalite helped keep the lost city in harmony and balance.
The stone of intuition, logic and communication.
Revered for centuries as a symbol of strength, wisdom and spiritual connection, the pyramid represents stability, higher awareness and focused intention. Many crystal lovers place pyramid carvings in their homes or meditation spaces as reminders of balance and personal growth.
In crystal tradition, sodalite is said to encourage intuition, mental clarity and confident communication while supporting logical thinking and sound decisions. Often associated with the throat chakra, it is believed to promote honest self-expression, emotional balance, inner peace and the confidence to speak your truth.
Through the ages, crystals and stones have been collected and prized for their timeless beauty, their rich history and even their spiritual and metaphysical properties. We believe in the mystical properties of crystals, though nothing we sell comes with any sort of magical guarantee.
