A sphere of black volcanic glass.
Obsidian
Polished until it mirrors the room.
Obsidian is born when lava cools so quickly that no crystals have time to form, leaving a smooth, glassy stone. Shaped into a sphere, its jet-black surface catches every reflection around it: leaves, sky and the light of the room it sits in.
People have worked obsidian for thousands of years, prizing its sharp edges for tools and blades and its gloss for decorative and spiritual pieces. It comes from volcanic regions around the world, including the United States, Mexico, Armenia, Turkey, Iceland, Japan and Ethiopia.

A stone of protection.
In crystal tradition, obsidian is a protective stone, believed to shield against negativity by absorbing and dispelling harmful energy. It is linked with the root chakra and said to ground you, bringing stability, strength, balance and a sense of security.
It is also said to encourage self-reflection and bring hidden truths to light, and its sharp edges have long symbolized cutting through illusion. A sphere's even shape is believed to send that energy out equally in every direction.
Crystals have been prized for centuries for their beauty and believed metaphysical properties; Spirit Magicka makes no guarantee of any mystical or healing effect.
