Up close
Soft green, threaded with black tourmaline.
Prehnite is translucent to transparent, soft light green with a yellowish or whitish undertone, and here it carries dark needles and patches of tourmaline. It forms in veins and cavities of mafic volcanic rock.
It has gone by many names: chrysolite of sage, Karoo, grape jade, adelite, coupholite and chiltonite.
It is found in South Africa's Karoo region, Australia's Wave Hill, China's Yunxian County, and in Germany, France, Scotland and the United States.

It is also said to connect with higher realms and help with remembering dreams.
