The stone
Born where ancient seawater dried.
Selenite is a variety of gypsum, formed when seawater evaporates and leaves mineral deposits behind. Over time those deposits transform into beautiful selenite crystals, delicate and translucent, like frozen moonlight.
Its name comes from the Greek word for moon, linking it to the ethereal energy of moonlight.
Selenite is found in Germany, Morocco, Australia, Tunisia, the Middle East including Saudi Arabia, Canada and the USA.
A stone of purification, clarity and divine connection.
In crystal tradition, the square shape of a cube symbolizes stability, structure and grounding, and is said to enhance a stone's properties of manifestation and organization.
Selenite is said to be an angelic stone with purifying energy, beneficial for judgment and insight, and a powerful disperser and stabilizer of erratic emotions that connects a conscious understanding of what is taking place at the subconscious level. The purest translucent white selenite has an ethereal quality and is said to inhabit the space between light and matter.
Revered for its pure, high vibrational energy, it is known in crystal circles for promoting clarity, peace and spiritual connection. It is connected to the Crown chakra, which when enhanced is said to strengthen your connection to divine energies and the higher self, and it is believed to help activate intuitive and psychic abilities.
Selenite is believed to cleanse and purify other crystals, spaces and the auric field, absorbing and dissipating negative energy, which makes it a favorite for energetic cleansing and protection. It is also believed not to need cleansing itself.
Crystals have been prized for centuries for their beauty and believed metaphysical properties; Spirit Magicka makes no guarantee of any mystical or healing effect.
