A raw shard of deep violet amethyst.

A raw amethyst shard held up to a blue sky, deep violet at the tip and clear at the base

Medium shard

Violet at the tip, clear at the base.

Each shard runs about 2.5 to 3 inches, deep violet at the tip and fading through pale lavender into clear quartz. Its many facets and jagged edges catch the light from every angle, and every piece is one of a kind.

Hold it during meditation, or stand it on an altar or shelf where light can shine through the tip.

Of the earth

Grown inside a geode.

Amethyst forms within geodes, the hollow pockets found in volcanic rock and ancient lava fields. Over millions of years, mineral-rich solutions seep into these spaces and deposit layer upon layer of crystal. Crack the geode open and shards like this one are waiting inside.

Amethyst geodes are most often found in Brazil, Uruguay and Madagascar.

Tranquility, intuition and protection.

In crystal tradition, amethyst is the crystal of tranquility, intuition and protection. Its shards are said to promote spiritual growth, intuition and inner peace and to deepen your connection to higher wisdom. They are believed to offer psychic protection from negative energy, support emotional healing and clarity, soothe stress and anxiety, and encourage restful sleep and vivid dreams.

Amethyst resonates with the Third Eye chakra and is said to awaken intuition, psychic ability and spiritual insight. Raw shards are thought to carry untamed, grounding energy for transformation, growth and manifestation.

Crystals have been prized for centuries for their beauty and believed metaphysical properties; Spirit Magicka makes no guarantee of any mystical or healing effect.
