WHY IT'S AWESOME? Found in dry, desert regions, each crystal is said to contain a unique spirit guardian. Desert Roses were believed to have been carried by First Nation warriors who returned from the spirit world. The roses were scattered over the Earth so that the home of the spirits would be kept sacred. They have traditionally been used as talismans for protection.
WHAT IS DESERT ROSE? Formed by wind, erosion, and sand, Desert Rose resembles a cluster of rose petals. Other names include Gypsum Rose, Selenite Rose, Rose Rock, Gypsum Rosette, and Sand Rose. This stone should not be placed into water as it is a type of selenite formed over time from a combination of sand, wind and water. Desert Rose clusters have been recorded up to 39 inches tall, weighing more than 1,000 pounds.
