A beautiful little gemstone for your altar and small enough to carry with you.
WHAT IS CITRINE? Citrine is one of the semiprecious crystal varieties of quartz. Even though quartzes are one of the most abundant crystals on the planet, the beautiful golden crystal is one of the rarest forms of quartzes. Most citrine available on the market is quartz that has gone through a heating process which turns the stone its yellow color. Long exposure to sunlight can cause fading, so we suggest you do not leave your citrine in full sunlight. The clear, darker-colored Citrine with an amber color are some of the most valuable types of Citrine and are the rarest.
WHY IT'S AWESOME? The word citrine comes from the French word, citron, meaning lemon and refers to th yellow color. Citrine, because of its color, is also known as the 'Merchant's Stone' and is believed to bring joy and prosperity. Folklore says that people would place a piece of Citrine in a money drawer to ensure that the riches never stop flowing. In Medieval times the Celts would wear a citrine amulet to bring good health.
