Warm red stone, treasured for centuries.
Red carnelian, red chalcedony and red agate are essentially the same stone: varieties of the mineral chalcedony with a red colour, and the names are often used interchangeably. These stones share similar properties and are valued for their beauty and metaphysical attributes. Red carnelian chalcedony is found in Brazil, India, Madagascar, Uruguay and the United States.
Called the good will stone, red carnelian is said to absorb negative energy and is associated with creativity, an open mind and a receptivity to new solutions for old problems. It is sometimes also called the grounding stone, the Earth stone, the crystal of fortitude, the crystal of inspiration and the stone of protection, and is thought to be good for action, emotional control, fear and calming.
Ancient civilisations treasured carnelian for its bold red hue, associating it with vitality, courage and protection. Warriors wore it as a talisman to boost their strength and courage in battle, and artists and poets believed it inspired artistic expression and ignited passion.
Crystals have been prized for centuries for their beauty and believed metaphysical properties; Spirit Magicka makes no guarantee of any mystical or healing effect.
